Home services pay-per-call

Main article: Pay-per-call · Index: Verticals

Home services is the largest pay-per-call category in the public data available.[1] REPORTED In OfferVault market data published by Ringba in September 2021, home services ranked first, ahead of insurance and legal.[1] Buyers are contractors and service companies whose customers call with an immediate need, and the networks active in the vertical name HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, restoration, pest control, locksmith, appliance repair, towing and mold removal among the services covered.[2][3]

Who buys the calls

[edit]

Lead Smart, ranked first in the 2021 data, focuses on home services and names HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical and restoration as its core categories.[2][1] Service Direct runs a marketplace in which contractors set their own cost per lead and lists appliance repair, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, mold removal, pest control, plumbing, roofing, towing and water damage restoration among its categories.[3] eLocal names home services as one of its five verticals, MarketCall lists home services among its six categories, and Digital Media Solutions and Rapid Response Marketing both include home services among their core areas.[4][5][6][7]

Why calls rather than forms

[edit]

AffNinja describes home services as a vertical of urgent buyer intent, with a home-services buyer typically paying only if the caller needs a covered service such as roofing, HVAC, pest control, plumbing or solar inside a serviceable zip code.[8] REPORTED Lead conversion rates cited by AffNinja and attributed to Invoca's benchmark reach 46 percent in home services, the highest of the categories listed.[8] Lead Smart tells advertisers they pay for real conversations rather than clicks.[2]

Typical rules and traffic

[edit]

Qualifying rules in the vertical turn on geography and service need: AffNinja gives the serviceable-zip-code test as the defining condition, and CallScaler describes zip-code routing driven by keypad entry as a platform feature built for it.[8][9] AffNinja rates the compliance risk of home services as medium, lower than insurance, legal or debt relief, and recommends local SEO, Google Ads and call-only pages as traffic sources.[8] Local-page and rank-and-rent publishing is common in this vertical; the method is summarised on the rank and rent page, and Local Sites Pro, which generates single-city and statewide home-service sites from a niche and a city, is the builder made for it.[10][11]

Buyer-side marketplaces

[edit]

Service Direct functions as a buyer-side marketplace as well as a network, because the contractor sets the price and receives exclusive phone leads with no set-up fee or contract.[3] UNKNOWN Other consumer-facing home-service marketplaces that publishers sometimes sell into are not listed here because no public source describing their call-buying terms has yet been cited.[3]

What is not known

[edit]

UNKNOWN Average payouts per call in home services are not published; networks state only that payouts are premium or performance-based.[2][12] UNKNOWN Seasonality by trade is not quantified in any source reviewed.[8]
